  • NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE IN PRECINCT 3: 
    3/18/2024 - 6/18/2024 Zimmerscheidt Road will be closed to thru traffic from Vogelsang Road to Venghaus Georg Road due to bridge construction @ Paasch Creek. Residents in the 1000 to 1052 Block use Venghaus Georg; and the 1493 to 1105 Block use FM 109.

  • Colorado County Offices will be closed on March 29, 2024 in observance of Good Friday

  • COLORADO COUNTY IS NOT CURRENTLY UNDER A BURN BAN. Colorado County Emergency Management requests that prior to starting any controlled burning (woodpiles, fields or large refuse piles), please call the Colorado County Communications Center at 979-732-2388, option 2.  They will ask you for the location and a contact number.  By doing this you will help prevent the needless dispatching of volunteer fire departments and will also receive information if a Burn Ban or Red Flag Warning is in place.  For more information on the burn ban status please click here

  • The Colorado County Hazard Mitigation Plan is under going review and needed changes as required every 5 years.  Due to COVID and grant funding issues, we are a little behind, but moving forward.  Part of the review process is getting public input concerning the plan and information that folks my have that need to be included.
    Click the link below to participate in completing a survey which is a critical part of the plan’s renewal process.

HGACColorado County is part of an effort to obtain grant funding to enhance and improve broadband coverage in our area and to the 13 county Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments region.  Part of the application effort is gathering real data from those of us that are affected and desire better access to broadband infrastructure.  They have data from other sources, but we need the people to input current experiences with the service they do or cannot receive. Please consider completing this survey so that Colorado County will have data posted for the grant.  The survey link is posted below.

COLORADO COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. 
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 7.496 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $33.63.
