IMPORTANT NOTICES/ANNOUNCEMENTS  

 

  • COLORADO COUNTY IS CURRENTLY UNDER A BURN BAN:  Due to the lack of rainfall and forecasted dry wind conditions creating a public safety hazard for outdoor burning, the County burn ban has been reinstated effective 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2025, until further notice.  Click to view the Burn Ban Order and Order Prohibiting Certain Fireworks in Unincorporated Areas of Colorado County

  • County Offices will be closed for the upcoming holidays, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on December 24 and 25, 2025, and New Year's Day on January 1, 2026.  In addition to the foregoing, the County Clerk's Office will be closed Monday, December 22, 2025 from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm and closed all day Friday, December 26, 2025. 

  • Road Closure, Precinct 3:  Reichardt Road will be closed to thru traffic starting December 3 and will be closed for approximately 6 months for bridge replacement at the San Bernard River (Austin County line at beginning of Frantz Road).

Budget and Tax Rate Information


COLORADO COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE.
  THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 5.21% AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $22.25.
